General

Volume and Surface Combo

Make it possible to give an object Volumetric opacity, but the Specularity and mirror that Surface Materials have. This is important for Glass and Colored Liquids.

Nodes

Material Blur Node (New/Modification)

Allows blurring of materials/textures in the material node editor, with the same options as the composite blur node.

Multiple Material Output Nodes

Often I have materials that relate to each other and repeat values on several nodes. If there could be on one node editor "page" many output nodes (that could be named) stemming from a large node tree so I have to make common settings only once. And if an edit to one related material is changed, all of the related materials will change according to their relationship to that changed aspect. For example: I have three materials that need to maintain a color theory triad relationship to each other. If one color is changed the others shift to maintain the triad.

Customizable "New Material"

By default, blender uses a cloud generated image and automatically generated texture coordinates each time you create a new material with textures. These settings should be far from default. I use those maybe 1 out of 10 times I make a material. Each time a user creates a new material, there's 20 seconds of unnecessary clicks from setting up a new material. Is there a way we can add a setting to save a user's customized material as the default new material?
