= About and how to use wiki tasks page =
When [http://www.blender.org blender.org] announces a [http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/ Blender Release], the Wiki [[Doc:2.4/Manual|User Manual]] should be updated, possibly in many languages.

In order to coordinate wiki authors, we gather todos derived from [[Dev:Ref/Release Notes|Release Notes]] in [[Meta:Wiki Tasks]].

Also, please edit the [[Meta:Wiki Tasks|wiki tasks page]] if you find missing parts in the manual but you cannot fix yourself.

Note that Tutorials are not considered in the [[Meta:Wiki Tasks|wiki tasks page]].

= Workflow =
== Listing of pages to be done/updated ==
At release time:
* Update this Template: [[Template:Blender/Version/Current|Template:Blender/Current version]].
* Create the page “<code>Meta:Wiki Tasks/Blender 2.5x</code>” (complete with appropriate version, for example “<code>2.51</code>”).
* List each todo, preceded by the appropriate [[Template:WikiTask|Wikitask template]]. you can use:

** {{WikiTask/Onhold}} ([[Template:WikiTask/Onhold|doc]]).

== Author commitment to a task ==
An author/contributor interested in a certain section then should:
* Communicate with [[Meta:Guides/Writer Guide#Contacts|docboard mailing list]] to avoid clashing with other authors.
* Change the [[Template:WikiTask/Todo|todo template]] near the page he’s interested in to “[[Template:WikiTask/Inprogress|Inprogress]]”, adding his [[Meta:Guides/Writer Guide#How to sign|Sign]].
* Write all the needed sandbox pages, following the [[Meta:Guides/Writer Guide|writer guide]] and the [[Meta:Guides/Style Guide|style guide]].

== Finding general consensus and moving to Manual ==
After the preparation in sandbox, an author should:
* Find general consensus in [[Meta:Guides/Writer Guide#Contacts|docboard mailing list]] about inclusion in official Manual of his or her own work.
* Update the Manual following the current structure, see also [[Meta:Guides/Writer Guide#Editing workflow|these editing guidelines]].
* Update wikitasks page changing “<code>Inprogress</code>” template with “<code>Onhold</code>” template.
