GSoC13 BGE Debug and Profiling: Weekly Report #2
This week
- Reviewed some of the current profiling categories as previously discussed, others are still waiting for user feedback.
- Introduced a new category 'latency' that measures time taken since the CPU issued the last rendering command until the GPU dispatches it and swaps buffers.
- User feedback in BA ( http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?297833-GSoC2013-BGE-Improved-Profiling-Options ) is very low so far. There is also an older thread: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?249767-Blender-Game-Engine-Feature-Request-Profiling . In total, suggestions are few. I am looking into getting more specific feedback and researching a good way to plot the data online and offline.
- I could not display OpenGL misc info as I was expecting. This needs more discussion and time.
Next week
- Continue the review of CPU categories.
- Research good plotting and data display options.
- Keep waiting for feedback.
