This is the 2.4 page updated for 2.6. There are still a few issues:
- Are the linux file paths outdated?
- What about Mac OS X and FreeBSD?
- File paths are also mentioned here. Which location is better?

This is the 2.4 page updated for 2.6. There are still a few issues:
- They are system wide. I don't think that its a good decision to do that system wide.
Better, a homeuser-based scripts directory should be used instead.
- Don't know yet. The old docu is from PPC times...
- What means *better*? The name of this section is *save your own script*. Installing scripts from others is easily trough the addons tab in the system preferences. But when you program yourself on your script, you should integrate it directly into the blender addons directory, to quickly test it.
Read that: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Source/Installation/ResourceFilePaths#Config_folder_paths
Check that outdated page out as well: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro/Advanced_Tutorials/Python_Scripting/External_scripts#Installing_The_Script

Updated the page:
- Installing addons from userprefs added.
- Filepaths for Linux and Mac added. These should be correct, I checked them in the source code.
- Linux systemwide path may be different, will check on that tomorrow.
What I ment by "better" is: Should we mentoin the paths on this page here or on the addons page?

And of course now I notice that we already have a page which explains all paths here. I now just link to that page in the article.
