I hope it's fine that I post some in-the-field use comments here, I just pulled a copy off of GraphicAll and tested retargeting with an animation from CMU to one of my rigs.
There seems to be a problem with my use-case, which may be the case with other users too, where I have my character facing along +y axis (ie. Front View shows the character's back) and the imported bvh (after running "Fix BVH Axis") faces along -y axis (front view show's character's front). Retargeting with this setup has the retargeted character's arms and legs flipping out in weird ways, the spine is twisted and similar irregularities. Understand that left and right bones are still in the correct sides relatice to the characters' fronts :P so the rigs are basically just rotated 180 degrees on Z of each other.
Note: I have to make my rigs face +y because I export my animations to Unity3D and there is additional overhead when dealing with such situations.
Will there be (or is there) a system in place that will fix this case?
