have you read the guidelines at Meta:Guides/Writer_Guide? When you do major rewrite you should use sandbox and contact docboard.

This is not a way to control or force you, but a maintenance thing, if you write unappropriate things some one might not have the time to review your work, and no one knows well your knowledge of Blender, so please come in irc or discuss with the docboard before doing any major changes to official docs, and please use the sandbox :) Thanks!
