Hi, I'm the one trying to coordinating this stuff :)

ToDo

  • Import Reference
  • Organize teams

In response to your comment about the gallery at the main page, i do agree to an extent, therefore feel free to move/delete as you see fit. But my original goal was to show case what Blender can do by creating a list of galleries, not just the images on B.org. Many beginners, after realizing that Blender is a free software, automatically assumes that it's not "as good as maya/3dsmax"

Modifiers topic

For me this is one of those grey areas. Do we place them in the Reference section or in the Manual section. So far I have treated the Reference section as a "quick reference" type of approach yet Modifiers are clearly more complex than that.

However, I tend to see modifiers as more of an extension to just about anything in Blender which makes it challenging to place in the Manual; mostly with more modifiers to be added in the future. I tend to treat the Manual section as guide into the Reference section (most of the time). I also try to place enough information in the Manual to help train "them" to look towards the Reference and Tutorial sections for further details.

My guess would be to cover the concepts of modifiers in the Manual: what they are used for, what they replace, the advantages/disadvantages, the different kinds, what conditions make them available, the animation possibilities/applications, etc.... Maybe even a simple example or two, all while referring to the Reference section. The Reference section would list all the modifiers with brief overviews and descriptions with corresponding panel images and perhaps pointers to other tutorials.

Let me know if this gives you some ideas or was what you where looking for. (Just got back from Seattle, sorry for the late reply)--Quartz 06:16, 9 February 2006 (CET)
