- Mike Erwin when to SIGGRAPH, which pushed back any coding work for a week, but the Vulkan, glTF, and of course Blender sessions made the trip worth it.
- Mike Erwin opened a task to track OpenGL requirements during Blender 2.8 development. Bumped Windows to GL 3.2 and Linux to GL 3.0 (up from 2.1). We can't do anything about Mac yet.

- AMD is sponsoring Mike Erwin's viewport work. Thanks to them he'll be able to work on Blender 2.8 / Viewport / OpenGL / Vulkan topics full time from now through December.
- Mike Erwin has sent an email to bf-committers with some more docs with request for feedback.
- Mike Erwin wrote a new immediate mode work-alike in C that works well in a little prototype app (using GL 3.2 core profile). He'll begin testing and refining based on how it fits into Blender's existing drawing code. Once that is ready he'll send out a call for assistance.

- Clément FOUCAULT has released an update to his PBR branch (video)
- Discussion has begun on how to bring this PBR branch into master

- D1958 (glShadeModel replacement) has been pushed to blender2.8 branch
- Alexander Romanov started the temporary removal of BI (first is non-realtime part) to investigate how things work and how to weaken relations with kernel. The purpose is to isolate old code and clear the road for the new Viewport.
May 2nd - May 9th
- Mike Erwin has implemented "solid wireframes" with OpenGL 3.2
- Mike Erwin sketched out a higher level API to make solid wireframes simple to use, but hasn't yet implemented that part
- Alexander Romanov is working on a replacement for glShadeModel (D1958)

- Some discussion regarding wireframes in Blender 2.8 was started in T48238
- Normal Map node support for GLSL mode and the internal render (multiple tangents support) (D1120) pushed to master

- Mike Erwin is working on some Viewport 2.8 ideas/docs/designs that he plans to have available soon. Initially it will be "what merwin thinks", but should give us something to talk about and arrive at "what Blender folks think."
