Current Projects

Briggs will merge Levis bevel code to trunk, will do a cleaned up patch first so theeth can review the transform code

hcube after February plans to merge the sound code

Genscher - cloth - will put collision modifier back into code + will make cloth enable for later for tearing. I will call that "cloth 1.0". After that, work could go on :)

Blender 2.5

elubie been trying to help jesterKing with some bugfixes and will be finishing join operator - mfoxdogg has provided patch with some changes there. Also now the overlay drawing should be possible

bdiego added the gesture manager, need review and let me know what you think about it

Ton has a commit ready with further cleanups and is *urgently* writing doc about architecture

Ton stated that based on work/discussions with elubie/jester/bdiego and here with brecht/campbell i think we can freeze 95% soon (95% of current specs in code)

Ton needs feedback on the design especially from experienced Blender devs - try and code a single hotkey. i need as much people as possible testing the design, so we can validate specs to work fine try to code one hotkey that does something silly, like printf("hello") or swap buffers, or... theres a lot of new conventions we should freeze of course we can remain flexible a while

this week Ton worked on defining correct ways how to handle return values silly issue, but important

Tech Preview Release

A 'peach release' based on current trunk will be done.

LetterRip and BDiego will manage the release.

Release date is targeted for one month after peach rendering completes.

A freeze for all features but the peach features in two weeks. After which bugfix mode only.

We probably won't have Ton, brecht, or ideasman_42 available for bugfixes on anything but peach specific bugs - so other devs please help out with the bugfixing efforts.

Users we need help on doing docs!! Most features have at least preliminary docs, but we need more pretty pictures, and artist friendly explanations :)

Reason for the release is multifold

1) So renderfarms can support it - they won't support unofficial builds

2) For our book authors it would be helpful to have an official build to base their manuscripts off

3) Peach will ship a release with the DVD anyway so this is a good time to do one

4) 2.50 final is going to be quite a while yet (not till July or later) and it has been a fairly long while since our last release

also Jan Devera (devroo) has volunteered to do OS X builds (intel and PPC)
