2.44 release review

Everyone discussed whether there were any show-stoppers in the 2.44 release which would require making a 2.44a release. Tom Musgrove reported a possible memory problem with multires, but this had not been confirmed yet. Ton said there was a middle mousebutton rotation memory issue which only happens in strange cases.

Ben Batt said he had fixed a bug after release for edit-mode deform modifiers which weren't working, when cage was turned off. The bug wasn't noticeable if a subsurf modifier was in use.

Ton proposed keeping cvs "frozen" apart from fixes and maintenance for a week to allow time for good investigations of bugs.

svn & projects migration

Proposal for svn was that branches are created from the trunk for releases (2.44 branch), for SOC projects, and large refactors. Creation of branches would be proposed on mailing list and discussed there or in IRC meetings. Release branch would need to be maintained/tested for a while after each release. More discussion is needed.

Last week projects were supposed to move, but Marco got stuck with issues that needed more time.
