Estimating convergence of adaptive sampling approach

I analysed the data in the diagramm a little bit. The maximum difference from the renders to the original converges algebraically with the number of samples. That's not very satisfiying, but at least it should enable us to estimate the number of samples for a given accuracy. I'm not quite shure, but therefore the maximum error value should underly the Richardson-Extrapolation. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richardson_extrapolation for further information) It can be used for the mentioned estimation. Hope this it helpfull...
