GSOC 2008 Idea Human Animation combo(motion re-targeting) Small improvements to speed work flow of motion data and physics data for use on a users skeleton Currently Mo-cap data and extising skeletons are not the easiest to get to work together. Work flow for quick animating has improved with automated skeleton creation in 2.46 and the ability to skin quickly with bone heat. Having to manually edit bvh files is not practical. It would be alot better to have one skeleton driven by different motion data files. Similar to what motion builder does. The project would be to:

  1. Improve skelator(automated skeleton creation) have presets for proportions(human) --ex. Da Vinci Man
  2. Motion re-targeting: A way to quickly assign constraints from one skeleton to another(maybe using Skelator's harmonics code?) http://downloads.alias.com/mkt/gmk_motionbuilder6_character_setup_motion_editing.swf
  3. Allow easy morph between the driving mo-cap data(walk bvh changes to run bvh) Maybe this is already possible with NLA?
