Minute for 15th January 2006 Meeting

Define standard week day and time for Meetings

  • It was decided that the meeting should not overlap with #blendercoders meeting time
  • Another decision was to do the meeting on every other week (two week basis)
  • Timming was set to 13:30 GMT

Who will actively be in "charge" of bf-docboard

  • This item was postponed for the next meeting.
  • Information is that Steffano("boss" of DocBoard) just got a son for Christmas, so congratulations to him and we will get news from him later on.

The focus of each board

  • rcas will mail Steffano on this matter for the DocBoard (hope is that Steffano appoints someone that can help out)
  • For the Education Board, rcas will push the focus to more "physical" things such as workshops and also helping out Companies / Organizations / Institutions establishing a Blender Educational ground (coordinating a cross-help environment that all can benefit from)
  • rcas will put some effort on the Education Board to create Diplomas that will eventualy lead to the much talked Certifications

Define goals for 2006 for each board

DocBoard goals

  • Bring the Documentation up to date with 2.4 Series
  • Build the next set of books

Education Board goals

  • rcas's own goal for this year is to get a "Worldwide Blender Workshop Tour" going. This will be done either with a small team going around the globe or by doing a Synchronized local event in several places worldwide
  • With the new set of Books being thought upon, the Education Board will be helping out in creating a Teachers Book, filled with CG Theory, Q&A and lots of exercices
  • Final goal is the creation of a "manual" for any institution / organization / company interested in teaching Blender, guidelines for the creation of content, what should / must be used and several links that can help

Proposal for a better workflow between Devs and Docboard

  • Propose to the coders to do better comments and provide examples on relevant commits in order for Documentation folks to get the Documentation up to date faster and less painfully (Letterrip should put a word on this matter to the coders)
